Setting up Edge Caching
Edge Caching
Overview
Edge Caching helps improve your website’s loading speed by storing copies of your content on servers located around the world. This allows visitors to receive content from the location closest to them, reducing load times and improving performance.
The more content that is cached, the faster your website can load for visitors regardless of their location.

Purge Cache
If you have recently updated your website and want visitors to see the latest version immediately, you can clear the cached content.
To purge the cache:
- Open the Edge Caching section.
- Click Purge Cache.
- Confirm the action if prompted.
Please note that website performance may temporarily decrease while fresh content is rebuilt across the network.

Development Mode
Development Mode temporarily disables caching for 3 hours, allowing you to make website changes without cached content interfering with your updates.
To enable Development Mode:
- Open the Edge Caching section.
- Locate Development Mode.
- Click Activate.
Caching will automatically be re-enabled after 3 hours.

Dynamic Cache
Dynamic Cache allows your application to cache additional content using Cache-Control and Expires headers.
This can improve performance for dynamic websites by reducing the time required to generate content for visitors.
Please note that responses containing cookies will not be cached for security reasons.

Custom Cache Settings
You can control how long different types of files remain cached on edge servers.
Available settings include:
- Image Cache – Controls image caching duration.
- CSS Cache – Controls stylesheet and font caching duration.
- JavaScript Cache – Controls JavaScript file caching duration.
Adjust these settings based on how frequently your website content changes.

Global Edge Caching
Global Edge Caching automatically stores static content such as images, CSS files, and JavaScript files on our global network of edge servers.
When enabled, visitors can access these files much faster, helping improve website performance worldwide.

Best Practices
- Keep Global Edge Caching enabled whenever possible.
- Purge the cache after major website updates.
- Use Development Mode while making design or content changes.
- Configure Dynamic Cache if your application supports caching headers.
These settings can help improve website speed and deliver a better experience for visitors around the world.
