Transfer Your Domain Away

Overview#

If you would like to move your domain name to another provider, you can start the transfer process from the Transfer Away section.

The options available depend on the type of domain you own. For UK domains, such as .uk, .co.uk, and .org.uk, transfers are completed using a Nominet IPS Tag.

Important: Once a tag change is submitted, it is processed immediately and cannot be reversed through the control panel.

How to Access the Transfer Away Page

1. Log in to your hosting control panel.
2. Click Manage Domains.
3. Select your domain name.
4. Click Transfer Away.

You will now see the available transfer options for your domain.

Change Nominet Tag

UK domains use a tag-based transfer system managed by Nominet.

To transfer your domain to another registrar, you simply replace the current tag with the new registrar’s IPS Tag.

What Is an IPS Tag?#

An IPS Tag is a unique identifier used by UK domain registrars.

When you move a UK domain to a new provider, the new provider will give you their IPS Tag.

You should obtain the correct tag directly from your new domain provider.

How to Change the IPS Tag#

Before submitting a tag change:

• Confirm the IPS Tag with your new provider.
• Check for spelling mistakes.

Transfer to Another 20i Customer

If your domain is attached to a hosting package, it cannot be transferred directly to another 20i customer from this page.
