Managing Domains
Manage Domains
Overview
The Manage Domains section allows you to add additional domains to your hosting package and control which folder each domain displays.
You can:
- Add new domains to your hosting package
- Point domains to specific website folders
- Host additional websites
- Remove domains when no longer needed

How to Access Manage Domains
- Log in to your hosting control panel.
- Click Manage Hosting.
- Select your hosting package.
- Click Manage Domains.
You will see options to add new domains and manage existing ones.
Understanding Document Root
The Document Root is the folder that contains the website files shown when someone visits a domain.
For example:
public_html
means the domain will load files from:
/home/sites/your-account/public_html
If your website files are stored in that folder, visitors will see that website when they visit the domain.
Add a Domain
To add another domain to your hosting package:
- Scroll to Add a Domain.
- Enter the domain name you want to add.
- Choose a Document Root.
- Click Add Domain.

Adding a Domain to an Existing Website
If you want multiple domains to show the same website:
- Enter the new domain name.
- Leave the Document Root as:
public_html
- Click Add Domain.
Both domains will display the same website content.
Example
autoscale.uk
and
autoscalehosting.com
can both load the files inside:
public_html
Hosting a Different Website
If you want the new domain to show a completely different website:
- Create a separate folder.
Example:
public_html/site2
or
secondsite_html
- Enter the new domain name.
- Set the Document Root to the new folder.
- Click Add Domain.
The new domain will load files from its own folder instead of the main website.
Manage Existing Domains
All domains attached to the hosting package appear in the Manage Domains section.
Example:
| Domain | Document Root |
|---|---|
| autoscale.uk | public_html |

Update a Domain’s Document Root
To change which folder a domain uses:
- Locate the domain in the domain list.
- Click the edit option.
- Update the Document Root.
- Save your changes.
The domain will begin loading files from the new folder.
Remove a Domain
If a domain is no longer needed:
- Locate the domain in the list.
- Click the remove option next to the domain.
- Confirm the removal.
This removes the domain mapping from the hosting package but does not delete the domain registration itself.
Important Notes
- Domain changes can take up to 15 minutes to fully update across the platform.
- Multiple domains can point to the same website by using the same Document Root.
- Different websites should use separate folders.
- Hosting completely unrelated websites within the same hosting package is generally not recommended for security reasons.
