Setting up Email Forwarders

Email Forwarders

Overview

Email Forwarders allow you to automatically send emails received at one address to another email address.

Unlike a mailbox, forwarded emails are not stored on the server. They are immediately sent to the destination address you choose.

For example:

info@autoscale.uk

can automatically forward all emails to:

yourname@gmail.com

Understanding the Settings

Email Address

This is the address that will receive the email first.

Example:

info@autoscale.uk

When someone sends an email to this address, the forwarder rule will be applied.

Domain

Choose the domain that the forwarding address belongs to.

Example:

autoscale.uk

Forwarder Type

Before entering the destination email address, choose how emails should be handled.

Standard

This is the most commonly used option.

Emails are automatically forwarded to another email address.

Example:

info@autoscale.uk
→
yourname@gmail.com

Reject All Email

Any email sent to this address will be rejected.

The sender may receive a message informing them that delivery failed.

This is useful for disabling old email addresses that should no longer receive messages.

Ignore All Email

Emails sent to this address will be silently discarded.

The sender will not usually receive a delivery failure notification.

This can be useful for addresses that receive unwanted messages.

Forward To Address

Enter the email address where messages should be delivered.

Example:

forwardedto@email.com

This can be:

  • A Gmail address
  • An Outlook address
  • Another mailbox on your domain
  • Any valid email address

Create Multiple Forwarders

You can create multiple forwarding rules for different email addresses.

Examples:

sales@autoscale.uk → sales@gmail.com
support@autoscale.uk → support@gmail.com
info@autoscale.uk → info@gmail.com

Simply repeat the creation process for each address.

Manage Email Forwarders

Existing forwarding rules will appear in the Manage Email Forwarder section.

From here you can:

  • View forwarding rules
  • Edit existing forwarders
  • Remove forwarders you no longer need
